Maurice “Mo” Vaughn — Managing Director
Mo is the co-Managing Director and co-founder of Omni New York LLC. Prior to becoming involved in real estate projects in urban areas that need revitalization and development, Mo has been an active supporter and contributor to various community based organizations and charities. Mo has enjoyed a successful career as a major league baseball player with the Boston Red Sox, Anaheim Angels and the New York Mets. Mo has been an All-Star multiple times and was the 1995 American League Most Valuable Player. Mo attended Seton Hall University and is a graduate of Trinity Pawling School.
Eugene Schneur — Managing Director
Eugene is the co-Managing Director and co-founder of Omni New York LLC. Prior to becoming a principal with Omni New York LLC, Eugene was a Mergers and Acquisitions attorney with Olshan Grundman Frome Rosenzweig & Wolosky LLP in New York. Eugene has also been involved in numerous real estate transactions in New York and other states. Eugene holds a degree from Cornell University in Industrial and Labor Relations, a J. D. from Benjamin Cardozo School of Law, and is a graduate of Stuyvesant High School in New York City.
Megan Black Thomas — Executive Vice President & Chief Operations Officer
Megan is the Executive Vice President & Chief Operations Officer for Omni New York LLC. Prior to joining Omni New York in August 2005, Megan was an Assistant Vice President at the New York City Housing Development Corporation, a public benefit corporation which issues bonds for the construction and permanent financing of affordable rental and co-op apartment buildings throughout New York City. Megan worked with developers, private lenders and investment bankers on structuring creative financing with tools including low-income housing tax credits, Liberty Bonds, taxable and tax-exempt bonds in both fixed and variable rate modes. From 1997 to 2002, Megan worked at the New York City Housing Partnership, a non-profit which sponsors the development of affordable homeownership in New York City. Megan holds a Masters of Urban Planning from New York University’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service and a Bachelor of Arts from Allegheny College.
Gary Rodney — Vice President
Gary is a Vice President of Omni New York LLC. Prior to joining Omni in July 2007, Gary was the Director of Development for BFC Partners, a New York City based real estate development company. Gary was responsible for overseeing all pre-developments tasks, which included securing construction and equity financing, obtaining any necessary government approvals, and directing design consultants. Before going to BFC, Gary was a Vice-President at the New York City Housing Development Corporation where he structured the financing of affordable multi-family rental and homeownership developments in New York City in addition to advising the Corporation on many housing development and policy initiatives. From 1999 to 2001, Gary worked on a mixed use affordable homeownership initiative for the New York City Housing Partnership. Gary holds a Masters of Urban Planning from New York University’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Rochester.
David Fleming — General Counsel
David Fleming is General Counsel of Omni New York LLC. Prior to joining Omni New York in March 2006, David was the Vice President of Acquisitions/Senior Counsel for six years at Alliant Asset Management Company. Alliant is a low income housing tax credit syndication firm based in California, where David was successful in the syndication of over $300 million in low income housing tax credits. From 1997 to 2000, David was a transactional real estate attorney practicing on Long Island, New York. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from S.U.N.Y. Geneseo and a Juris Doctor degree from St. John’s University School of Law.
Jennifer Lawrence - Chief Financial Officer
Jennifer is the Chief Financial Officer of Omni New York, LLC. Prior to joining Omni New York in March 2008, Jennifer was the Controller of Northeast Brooklyn Housing Development Corporation (NEBHDCo), a non-profit affordable housing developer with properties in Brooklyn, New York. Jennifer was responsible for the day to day financial operations as well as ensuring financial compliance with all regulatory and private bank requirements for 16 affordable properties. Before joining NEBHDCo, Jennifer was the Finance and Technical Director for Muller & Associates, Inc. an executive recruiting firm in New York. Prior to that Jennifer was the Senior Consultant of the telecommunications group with The Carson Group which provides investor relations consulting to publicly traded companies. Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from New York University.
